#TradingPairs101
In various financial markets, assets are always traded in pairs, where the value of one is expressed in terms of the other. A pair comprises a base asset and a quote asset. For example, in $BTC / $USDT, Bitcoin (BTC) is the base, and Tether (USDT) is the quote. The displayed price tells you how much of the quote asset is needed to buy one unit of the base. When you "buy" the pair, you're buying the base asset and selling the quote. Conversely, "selling" means you're selling the base and receiving the quote. Prices fluctuate based on supply, demand, and market dynamics. Understanding these pairs is crucial for grasping how assets are valued and exchanged.
