According to the latest 13F filings, investment advisory firms in the U.S. currently hold a total of $10.28 billion in spot Bitcoin ETF funds, far exceeding the $6.9 billion held by hedge funds.
This change indicates an increasing level of interest from traditional financial institutions, while also paving the way for broader adoption of Bitcoin within the financial system.
U.S. financial advisors dominate the market with $10.28 billion in Bitcoin ETFs
According to analysis by Eric Balchunas – an ETF expert at Bloomberg, financial advisors in the U.S. have officially become the group of investors holding the most spot Bitcoin ETFs. He notes that this represents a significant shift in market position.
"The advisory group is clearly leading in ETF ownership, and their holding percentage could rise to 35%-40% of total ETF assets as traditional finance (TradFi) embraces this product," Balchunas said.
This move is being assessed as a positive signal for the trend of legalizing and institutionalizing the cryptocurrency market. Public discussions are increasingly focusing on the impact of ETFs on the liquidity and legitimacy of Bitcoin in the global financial flow.
Bitcoin's market capitalization reaches $2 trillion – The impact from institutional cash flow is evident
You may not know: The fact that investment advisory firms have surpassed hedge funds in the ETF crypto game also occurred similarly after the U.S. officially approved the first spot Bitcoin ETF in 2024. This trend reflects the increasingly strong participation from licensed asset management entities.
According to data from CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin is currently trading at $104,663.58, with a total market capitalization of $2.08 trillion and a circulating supply nearing the maximum of 21 million BTC. Although the price has adjusted down slightly by 0.99% in the past 24 hours, over the last 60 days, BTC has increased by up to 26.42%.
The research team from CoinCu believes that the wave of investment from financial institutions into Bitcoin ETFs not only increases market stability but also promotes the refinement of regulatory frameworks. In the context of continuous blockchain technology development, Bitcoin maintains its position as a long-term strategic asset for institutional investors.
