California Assembly has passed AB-1052, a bill that would classify long-inactive crypto assets as “unclaimed property,” allowing the state to hold them in custody. Users must interact with their accounts at least once every three years to avoid temporary seizure. The assets will not be liquidated and will remain in crypto form, allowing users to reclaim them later.
