California previously filed a lawsuit on April 16 in the name of the state government and Governor Gavin Newsom, accusing the federal government of illegally implementing the so-called 'reciprocal tariff' policy under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and claiming that this action harms the broad interests of states, consumers, and businesses. California is also the first state to sue the Trump administration over tariff issues.
