PANews, June 4 - According to Barrons, Badiss Mohamed Amide Bajjou, a 24-year-old dual French-Moroccan national suspected of orchestrating multiple kidnappings of French cryptocurrency entrepreneurs, was arrested in Tangier, Morocco. The French Minister of Justice confirmed that the suspect is wanted by Interpol for charges including 'kidnapping and unlawful detention of hostages.' Bajjou is suspected to be one of the masterminds behind the kidnapping of David Balland, co-founder of the French cryptocurrency hardware wallet company Ledger, in January.

Moroccan security authorities stated that criminal gangs recruit French teenagers online to carry out kidnappings. French authorities have prosecuted 25 suspects aged 16 to 23, but the main orchestrator—a man in his 40s with dual French-Moroccan nationality—remains at large. These cases prompted the French Ministry of the Interior to hold an emergency meeting to strengthen security measures for wealthy individuals.
