The Trump family denies involvement in the issuance of 'Trump Wallet' by Magic Eden
On June 4, Magic Eden announced that it is developing a new product called 'Trump Wallet' and released a landing page listing a public waitlist.
The page claims that this is President Donald Trump's 'first and only cryptocurrency wallet designed for loyal fans' and lists NFT marketplace Magic Eden and trading app Slingshot Finance as partners.
However, Eric Trump (@EricTrump) and Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldTrumpJr) both denied any connection to the project.
Donald Trump Jr. stated on social media, 'The Trump Organization has no relationship with this wallet product.' He added that he and his brother @EricTrump are both 'unaware of this' and that World Liberty Financial, a company under the Trump Organization, is about to launch its own official wallet.
Following this, Eric Trump also posted a message stating, 'I manage @TrumpOrganization (@worldlibertyfi $Trump @AmericanBTC), but I know nothing about this project!'
Magic Eden's business leader Liz A (nicknamed 'Voh' on social media) stated that the company's accounts have not been compromised and emphasized that the announcement is legitimate.
Meanwhile, Cole McMillian (nickname 'Papi'), the community head of the NFT marketplace, responded to a user question on the Discord server about why they did not defend themselves, saying that the project passed extremely strict legal scrutiny, so replies must be careful and cautious.
Currently, neither Magic Eden nor Slingshot has released technical details regarding custody, supported blockchains, or geographic restrictions.
What do you think about the 'Trump Wallet' launched by Magic Eden? Do you believe this is a legitimate collaborative project, or do you suspect something fishy? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts!
