š«š„ Why I Quit Using Stop Loss ā and What I Do Instead š„š«
I know this might sound crazy to most traders, but Iāve officially STOPPED using stop-loss orders in my trading strategy on Binance šš
Hereās why:
š I was getting stopped out way too often ā right before the price reversed.
š Quick wicks would hit my SL, Iād take the loss, then boom š„⦠price moved in my original direction. Frustrating!
š” I realized:
āļø Market makers hunt stop losses.
They know where retail traders place them ā and use that liquidity.
š Crypto is volatile by nature.
Tight SLs donāt survive normal 3-5% swings.
š§ Emotions ruin good trades.
SLs were triggering panic. Now I focus on logic, not fear.
So what do I do now instead? š¤š
ā
I analyze higher timeframes (1D, 4H) to understand the bigger trend.
ā
I use alerts to get notified when price enters my risk zone.
ā
I manage risk with position sizing, not tight SLs.
ā
I set mental stop-losses and exit manually when my bias is invalidated.
ā
I always trade with capital I can afford to risk.
š ļø I'm not saying stop losses are useless ā but theyāre not for every strategy. If you're tired of getting wicked out, it might be time to rethink your approach. šÆ
Trade smart. Trade safe. š
