Pakistan Legalizes Cryptocurrency and Launches National Bitcoin Reserve
Pakistan has officially recognized cryptocurrency by establishing the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC). Led by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and CEO Bilal Bin Saqib, the PCC aims to integrate blockchain technology into the nation's financial system.
The government plans to hold bitcoin in a national wallet, signifying a long-term commitment to digital currency. Additionally, 2,000 megawatts of electricity have been allocated to support bitcoin mining and AI data centers.
