Historically, Altcoin Dominance excluding Stablecoins found strong support around 25%, typically during periods when Bitcoin and Stablecoins dominated the market and altcoins lost significant market share. Interestingly, whenever this dominance hovered between 24% and 25.3%, it marked the beginning of an Altcoin Season that lasted for several weeks.
When analyzing Altcoin Dominance excluding ETH and Stablecoins, the picture changes slightly. This metric shows that Ethereum plays a critical role in supporting overall altcoin dominance. Here, the support level historically held around 18%, which is quite intriguing given that the number of altcoins has grown significantly over time. Only a few times in history has it dropped below 18%, and when it did, Bitcoin rapidly lost market share to altcoins.
While we cannot claim that these support levels alone confirm the start of an Altcoin Season, they are highly relevant signals with a strong historical probability of repeating, offering meaningful opportunities in the crypto market.
