💻 According to the Financial Times, Oracle has decided to spend around $40 billion on high-performance Nvidia chips to operate the massive U.S. "OpenAI" data center. This comes as part of the race among tech groups to build the enormous infrastructure needed for artificial intelligence models.

💻 The Abilene site in Texas is the first U.S. "Stargate" project, a $500 billion data center plan led by "OpenAI" and SoftBank. It will provide 1.2 gigawatts upon completion next year, making it one of the largest in the world.

💻 The owners of the Abilene site, Crosso and U.S. investment firm Blue Owl Capital, have raised $15 billion in debt and equity to finance the project. This massive project will include eight buildings and construction began last June.

💻 The Abilene center represents an important step for "OpenAI" to reduce its dependence on Microsoft, which it had relied on exclusively. The exclusivity agreement was terminated after "OpenAI's" demand for power far exceeded the supplies of the U.S. tech giant.
