AUATON demands that Bolt unblock the driver suspended for attacking a passenger in PH
The chairman of the United App-Based Transporters of Nigeria (AUATON) in Rivers State has demanded that Bolt immediately reinstate the driver Vuga Ku Prince, who was accused of attacking the passenger, Miss Kosisochukwu Okoye, during a Bolt ride in Port Harcourt.

According to reports, the incident that occurred on Sunday, June 1, involved the driver demanding a fare of 4500 naira, which far exceeds the amount listed in the app of 3100 naira. When the passenger refused to pay, a fight broke out, resulting in injuries.
It is reported that as a result of the incident, she was left covered in bruises and blood.
In a separate statement to Technext, the CEO of Bolt Nigeria, Osi Ogua, confirmed the suspension of the driver from their platform, stating that the company is aware of the incident and has since taken disciplinary action.

"We are aware of a recent incident involving a Bolt driver who allegedly attacked a passenger, demanding payment outside the app. Such behavior is completely unacceptable and violates our community principles. The driver has been suspended from the platform, and our team has contacted the passenger to offer support," said the CEO.
Recall that in January, Technext reported that Bolt threatened to suspend the accounts of drivers who negotiate rides offline. This occurred even as the company introduced a new feature for canceling rides offline in its app.
With the new feature, passengers can cancel a ride by selecting the option "the driver asked for payment outside the app" under certain circumstances.
Although the company stated that this step would deter passengers and drivers from negotiating rides offline, 12 months later, this practice appears to be gaining popularity in cities across Nigeria.
