New Chrome Zero-Day Vulnerability Exploited, Google Releases Emergency Out-of-Band Patch

On June 3, PANews reported that Google urgently released a security update for the Chrome browser to patch a high-risk zero-day vulnerability CVE-2025-5419 that has been exploited in the wild. This vulnerability exists in the V8 JavaScript engine and was discovered by Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG). Attackers have exploited this vulnerability through malicious HTML pages. Users are advised to upgrade to Chrome versions 137.0.7151.68/.69 (for Windows and macOS) and version 137.0.7151.68 (for Linux) to mitigate potential threats. Additionally, users of Chromium-based browsers (such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi) are also recommended to apply the patch promptly when it becomes available.
