My latest thoughts on the new Kaito "loyalty penalty" for larger creators:

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about it.

For context, I'm ranked in the top 100 across 11 Kaito leaderboards, including Starknet. (where I'm in the top 20. Frankly, I'm not sure how that happened, perhaps keyword overlap?)

Imagine if I ranked in the top 10 across all 11 leaderboards. Without the penalty, this would likely occur, letting me cook biggy.

However, this would make it incredibly difficult for smaller accounts to climb (e.g., zh0u wouldn't remain at rank 1 if larger accounts advanced at the same pace).

Due to the penalty, my content is now 3-4 times harder to rank, even though I mainly discuss projects and share news organically I get punished for it.

This is detrimental to me and feels somewhat 'unfair.'

Yet, this change benefits greatly for smaller accounts, offering them a 'fair' opportunity without requiring a massive follower base.

Overall, while it's a bit 'unfair,' I support this implementation. It levels the playing field for smaller creators, showing that account size isn't everything.

I'm 60/40. Not happy, but more pleased than upset.
