The UK Financial Conduct Authority proposed regulations for stablecoins and digital asset custody to support innovation and protect consumers.
It requires that stablecoins be fully backed by liquid assets and ensures the security of customer assets.
The public consultation ends on July 31, and implementation is expected in 2026.
