Islamabad, Pakistan — In a dramatic escalation of political tensions, former Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced the launch of a nationwide protest movement against the current regime — all while remaining behind bars.
The announcement was confirmed by Senator Ali Zafar, a close ally, following a high-profile meeting with Khan in prison. According to Zafar, Khan will continue to lead the movement from jail, orchestrating strategy and mobilizing supporters through trusted intermediaries.
“He’s not backing down,” Zafar said. “He believes the time for silence is over — and the streets of Pakistan will now speak.”
A Movement Across Every Street and City
This new wave of protests is expected to ripple far beyond the capital. Sources inside the party say every major city and town will be called upon to join the resistance.
From Lahore to Karachi, from Peshawar to Quetta, PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) activists and supporters are being mobilized en masse, as Khan calls on the nation to stand “not just for him — but for democracy, justice, and the rule of law.”
Khan: ‘No Choice Left but to Rise’
Speaking through party channels, Khan conveyed that he had been "cornered" and left with no other political or legal options but to call for civil resistance.
“I’ve been silenced, persecuted, and isolated — but I am not defeated,” Khan reportedly said. “This is no longer just about me. It’s about the soul of Pakistan.”
Khan's arrest, widely seen by his supporters as politically motivated, has already stirred public anger. Now, with the former premier actively directing a national protest from prison, Pakistan is bracing for what may become one of the largest coordinated protest campaigns in its history.
