Launched in 2018, WalletConnect has become a cornerstone of the Web3 infrastructure, enabling over 150 million connections for more than 23 million users. The protocol supports more than 62,000 dApps and facilitates millions of monthly connections, making it one of the most widely adopted standards for wallet-to-dApp interactions.
To distribute WCT and engage the community, WalletConnect initiated a multi-season airdrop. Season 1, which concluded in October 2024, allocated 50 million WCT (5% of the total supply) to eligible users and contributors.
Eligibility for the airdrop was determined through a three-pillar scoring system:
Network Activity: Evaluated user interactions within the WalletConnect Network, considering factors like the number of connections and signatures.
Onchain Presence: Assessed activity across major blockchains, including Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Polygon, focusing on metrics such as wallet balances, transaction volumes, and NFT minting.
Airdrop Behavior: Analyzed past participation in airdrops, rewarding long-term holders and penalizing quick sellers.
Additional points were awarded for contributions to open-source projects, GitHub activity, and support through platforms like Gitcoin.
As of June 1, 2025, WCT is trading at approximately $0.57 USD, With +932% Flexible earnings plans, The token's price has experienced fluctuations, with an intraday high of $1.35 and a low of $0.52, reflecting the dynamic nature of the cryptocurrency market.
