Two Arrested

Two suspects, Malon Lam (20 years old) from Miami/Los Angeles and Jindel Serrano (21 years old) from Los Angeles, have been charged with conspiring to steal and launder more than $230 million in cryptocurrency from a victim in Washington, D.C.

Lam, a Singaporean citizen who goes by the online names "Anne Hathaway" and "$$$", and Serrano, known as "VersaceGod" and "@SkidStar", appeared in federal court in Florida and California.

Since August 2024, the duo and their co-conspirators have hacked the victims' cryptocurrency accounts, laundered the stolen funds through mixers, exchanges, peeling chains, and virtual private networks to hide their identities. They spent the proceeds on luxury travel, cars, jewelry, and homes.

This case, led by the U.S. Attorney's Office and the FBI, along with the Criminal Investigation Units of the IRS, highlights the ongoing challenges in cryptocurrency security and law enforcement efforts to combat crypto crimes.
