US Court Indicts Second Suspect in Crypto Kidnapping Case

A U.S. court has indicted William Duplessie in the kidnapping and torture of an Italian crypto investor, who was held for 17 days in a Manhattan townhouse. The suspects allegedly tried to steal digital assets by forcing the victim to give up his device passwords.

🔹 Duplessie faces charges including kidnapping, assault, and unlawful imprisonment, and will be arraigned on June 11.

🔹 His co-accused, John Woeltz, was denied bail earlier.

🔹 The victim reportedly escaped after handing over access to his crypto wallet.

⚠️ NYPD Internal Probe: Two detectives are under investigation for allegedly acting as unauthorized private security for the suspects. One is said to have driven the victim from the airport to the crime scene.

The case has raised serious questions about law enforcement misconduct and the risks high-net-worth crypto holders may face.
