It's a system that allows smart contracts to receive data from the real world to function properly on the blockchain.

💡 Since smart contracts can't access external information on their own, oracles send them data such as prices, weather, or sports scores.

📌 Example:

"A contract that pays if it rains in Buenos Aires needs an oracle to inform it if it actually rained."
