Pakistan is establishing a strategic reserve of #bitcoin led by the government, according to the executive director of the #Criptomonedas council of Pakistan, Bilal Bin Saqib, at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Saqib emphasized that the government will adopt a long-term strategy of #holding , and that this will not be used for speculation or hype. This means they will hold the purchased Bitcoins and will not sell them.
So far, it is unknown how many #bitcoins the government plans to hold, and whether the bitcoins will be purchased or acquired in other ways. This new government statement comes after the country initiated support for Bitcoin mining operations.
