CZ hinted that 'someone just sold Bitcoin', the community suspects Michael Saylor
Changpeng Zhao (CZ) – founder and former CEO of Binance – recently caused a stir in the cryptocurrency community when he posted on social media X (formerly Twitter) a cryptic status: 'Probably sold Bitcoin', accompanied by a smiley face emoji.
Although not naming anyone specifically, CZ's remarks ignited speculation that he was referring to Michael Saylor, the founder of MicroStrategy and one of the world's biggest Bitcoin advocates.
Controversial remarks by Saylor about Bitcoin
On the same day as CZ's tweet, Michael Saylor stated that companies holding Bitcoin do not need to disclose proof of reserves or undergo audits, believing that such measures could pose security risks.
This statement was immediately met with criticism in the community, as it goes against the trend of transparency in the industry.
Some people believe Saylor said this to avoid being detected selling Bitcoin, although there is currently no official evidence showing that MicroStrategy has made any recent sales.
Not confirmed yet, but analysts are still keeping a close watch
So far, there is no documentation from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) showing that MicroStrategy has sold BTC.
However, on-chain transactions – those recorded on the blockchain – can sometimes indicate asset changes that do not appear in periodic reports.
Is CZ really targeting Saylor or just making a general jab? The answer will become clearer in the coming days if more information comes from those involved.
