The cryptocurrency industry, especially Bitcoin, is increasingly playing a strategic role in the economic and national security policy of the United States. Senator Cynthia Lummis recently emphasized that China's ban on Bitcoin mining is not a shock but actually a golden opportunity for America. As miners leave China, most of them have moved to the U.S., turning the country into a leading global Bitcoin mining hub.
President #DonaldTrump has also publicly supported the consolidation of Bitcoin mining operations within U.S. territory, seeing this as an important step to control and develop this strategic technology domestically.
However, Senator Lummis believes that a more strategic step is to establish a national Bitcoin reserve. According to her, many U.S. military leaders now recognize that economic power — including digital assets like Bitcoin — plays a vital role in modern geopolitical confrontations. Some generals are advocating for the U.S. to hold Bitcoin as part of a "strategic reserve," similar to gold or oil.
Not only the federal government, but states like Arizona, Texas, and New Hampshire are also leading the way by passing laws related to Bitcoin reserves. Currently, 30 states are considering this issue, reflecting an irreversible trend: Bitcoin is gradually becoming part of America's long-term economic strategy.
Former U.S. Treasurer Rosie Rios also stated, "The innovation train has left the station" – implying that no one can stop the development of cryptocurrency and blockchain. She believes that the U.S. has fallen behind due to a lack of experts, but currently, the government is actively inviting experts and businesses to help build policies to catch up with the wave of innovation that has been ongoing for over a decade.
With the combination of strategic vision from state to federal levels, along with the government starting to "get involved," the long-term prospects for Bitcoin and the crypto market in the U.S. are brighter than ever.
