On May 28, Grayscale announced the launch of the AI cryptocurrency sector, which will become the sixth industry sector and will include tokens previously belonging to other market sectors. All other index standards will remain unchanged.

The newly defined AI sector covers 20 assets with a total circulating market cap of approximately $20 billion. At this scale, the AI cryptocurrency sector is the smallest sub-market, accounting for about 0.67% of the total market cap. In comparison, the financial sector is the third largest sector, with a market cap of approximately $519 billion. Grayscale believes that the relatively small size of this cryptocurrency sector reflects that many projects are still in the early stages.
