Dent is a decentralized mobile data exchange built on Ethereum that allows the buying, selling, and giving away of mobile data through an auction system. Data packages are smart contracts on Ethereum. The DENT token is used to buy mobile data on the platform.
The currency used in the trade, the DENT token, is the driving unit of account of the platform. The actual selling, buying, and giving away of data packages happens on the Ethereum blockchain using ETH. The instruments, i.e. data packages, will be smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. DENT Exchange will operate the Ethereum smart contracts, effectively turning the system into a blockchain-based trading platform. The crowdsale will allow participants to purchase DENT at a low starting price before it is used in the exchange.
If the exchange becomes the de facto place to trade mobile data capacity, it will become the primary method for determining the floating price of mobile data worldwide. Telcos, market participants and end users will interact in a true market-based manner to determine the current price. This will ultimately lead to increased competition, new packages for exchange and further enable DENT Exchange to become the dominant force in the mobile data space using the DENT currency.
