$AI š¤ OpenAI breaks from Microsoft, $40B OracleāNvidia Mega deal fuels US AI arms race
OpenAI is cutting its ties with Microsoftās cloud services. Oracle is investing $40 billion into Nvidiaās GB200 superchips to supply OpenAIās new data centre in Abilene, Texas. This centre will have 1.2 gigawatts of raw AI power. The site, backed by $15 billion in debt and equity from Crusoe and Blue Owl, is part of the $500 billion Stargate plan championed by Trump, SoftBank, and G42.
Oracleās $400 million purchase of Nvidiaās GB200 chips marks its biggest bet yet. It also signals OpenAIās pivot away from Microsoftās cloud services and towards the UAE, where it plans to expand.
The AI hardware race is global now and itās only getting louder.
