Did you know our smallest denomination 'rupiah'? Well, Bitcoin also has its own smallest denomination called Satoshi!
1 Bitcoin = 100,000,000 Satoshi
So, Satoshi is like "cents" in the Bitcoin digital currency.
Why Should There Be Satoshi?
Imagine you want to buy coffee for Rp50,000, but the price of 1 BTC is currently Rp1 billion. Do you really want to pay 0.00005 BTC? That's cumbersome, right?
Now, with Satoshi, you can simply say: "The price is 5,000 Satoshi." It's more practical!
Quick Calculation Example:
For example, the price of 1 BTC = Rp1,000,000,000
So, 1 Satoshi = Rp1,000,000,000 ÷ 100,000,000 = Rp10
So, if you have 10,000 Satoshi, that's equivalent to Rp100,000!
