Changpeng Zhao Refutes Claims of Meddling in World Liberty Financial Transactions
Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has publicly denied allegations that he acted as a “fixer” in financial dealings involving World Liberty Financial (WLF). The accusations stem from a recent Wall Street Journal article suggesting CZ facilitated meetings between WLF and government officials in Pakistan, Malaysia, and Kyrgyzstan.
CZ called the claims “false and misleading”, asserting he had no role in connecting WLF with any Pakistani officials, nor did he engage in brokering governmental relationships. He also accused the WSJ of harboring malicious intent, suggesting the article is part of a broader effort to damage crypto’s reputation and growth.
This isn’t the first time CZ has clashed with the Wall Street Journal. He has previously alleged the outlet engages in politically motivated reporting aimed at undermining both his personal image and Binance’s global operations.
The controversy adds to the ongoing scrutiny around crypto leaders and their influence on emerging markets and regulatory environments.
