How much tuition has my cousin paid in fraud prevention?
1/ Invested in a private placement and lost money in a fake Telegram
Lost 2 Ether in 2021; the characteristic of such Telegram groups is that there will be a group of people flooding the chat, and if you reveal in the group that you sent money, you will be kicked out of the chat.
2/ Private key leak
Total loss of 41,000 USD from several wallets' full-chain assets.
The private key was only backed up in WeChat's transmission assistant, and I still can't figure out why it was stolen.
3/ Fake links that have typos but are very similar
This cost me a few hundred dollars at the time, so it wasn't a big issue. For example, the fake website that was very popular back then was pinksale, but it was spelled plnksale (replacing 'i' with lowercase 'l') or pinksaIe (replacing lowercase 'l' with uppercase 'I').
After these three incidents, I understood the importance of careful review.
Now that the market is getting better, there will definitely be scammers making a comeback.
There will be more innovative scams.
