Peter Schiff criticized Donald Trump for a planned private dinner with top holders of the $TRUMP meme coin, describing it as unethical for a sitting U.S. President to accept direct payments for access to them.

In a post on X, Schiff stated that donations for political campaigns are different, but personally benefiting from events or organizing tours of the White House for money is prohibited.

Trump is hosting a dinner for the top 220 investors in the $TRUMP meme coin at his private club. The top twenty-five coin holders will also enjoy a VIP reception, a tour of the White House, and commemorative NFT tokens.

The dinner has drawn criticism from both parties, with concerns about transparency and access. Critics argue that it opens the door for wealthy or anonymous buyers to gain influence. Tron founder Justin Sun, a controversial billionaire in the cryptocurrency space, has emerged as the largest holder of the coin.

Trump denies benefiting from the project, and the team behind the coin states that it is not linked to his campaign.
