Bitcoin stumbles as Trump says talks with the EU "are going nowhere"
Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView showed that BTC/USD hit lows of $107,367 on Bitstamp before recovering.
This marked daily losses of up to 4% as markets reacted to comments from U.S. President Donald Trump about tariffs on the European Union.
"Our discussions with them are going nowhere!" Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
"Therefore, I am recommending a direct tariff of 50% on the European Union, starting June 1, 2025."
