The "Stop TRUMP in Crypto Act" has been introduced in the U.S., targeting the involvement of the president and his family in the crypto industry, according to Decrypt.
Democrat Maxine Waters initiated the bill following Donald Trump's private dinner with TRUMP token holders.
The proposal seeks to ban the president, their spouse, children, and in-laws from launching, promoting, trading, or profiting from cryptocurrencies while in office.
Waters remarked,
"Trump is dining with memecoin investors, including foreign billionaires. Congress must not turn a blind eye to this corruption."
So far, 15 Democrats have backed the bill, while no Republicans have signed on.
