In a podcast he participated in recently, Renato Amoedo (38tão) shared his opinion on the altruism of Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of bitcoin who renounced all his fortune in the currency.
According to 38tão, Satoshi proved to be different by renouncing all the glory of his creation, the wealth derived from it, and any honor he could receive. For Renato, if Nakamoto were a public figure, he could even receive a Nobel Peace Prize for his creation.
The statement from the Brazilian bitcoin influencer was in response to the host of FlexCast, who questioned whether 38tão sees himself as a “messenger of Satoshi.”
“Satoshi is the pseudonym, isn’t it? Bitcoin is already much bigger than Satoshi and for it to be bigger than Satoshi, he had to step out of the scene, right? The conception without sin, right? How many people in the world would renounce? How much is 1 million bitcoins times 100,000 €? Renouncing all this wealth for more than 15 years and, more than that, renouncing all the honor and glory, he didn’t receive a handshake, he was a guy who could receive a Nobel Prize in Economics or Peace, isn’t it? He renounced everything, right? All honor, all glory, and all wealth, to not spoil what was done, right?” said 38tão.
“Whoever buys bitcoin tends to gain over gold in the coming centuries,” says Renato Amoedo.
As one of the main advocates of Bitcoin in Brazil, Renato 38tão participated in a new podcast from Portugal. And from there, he said that bitcoin has the potential to surpass gold in the coming centuries.
“Whoever bought gold gained over silver for centuries. It’s the same reason that whoever buys Bitcoin tends to gain over gold in the coming centuries and decades that Bitcoin exists, because Bitcoin is scarcer than gold, it is more transportable, it is more divisible, it is more fungible,” continued explaining 38tão.
Despite his optimistic belief in bitcoin, Renato 38tão was categorical in stating that it is impossible to explain the technology to most people. “We don’t need to convince the majority, the majority will go to heaven or hell, my father’s house is like the marriage of the king’s son, isn’t it?” explained the author of the book Bitcoin Red Pill, one of the most important in the country.
The podcast also addressed themes such as trust in Nation States, the monetary fiduciary system, private freedom, among others.
