To counter the WSJ's news, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) shared a post opposing another fake news from the WSJ.
Accordingly, the WSJ claimed that CZ is acting as an intermediary for the cryptocurrency project World Liberty Financial (WLFI) supported by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The WSJ accused that WLFI co-founder Steve Witkoff (former Middle East envoy of the Trump administration) and his son Zach have supported WLFI in the region while CZ also facilitated business operations.
CZ denied the WSJ's accusations, claiming that the WSJ is malicious and this is not journalism.
CZ stated that the WSJ recently sent him several questions, but those questions were based on biased and inaccurate assumptions about reality, adding that they did not report those facts.
CZ stated that the WSJ asked him: "Are you establishing connections abroad for the WLFI project supported by Trump?"
CZ stated that they asked many such questions and they replied that there is "a lot of misinformation and baseless reasoning."
CZ, who claimed that he did not answer those questions and denied the accusations, stated that even so, the WSJ did not report the truth; instead, they reported based on their own malicious reasoning, "The person facilitating some promotional programs for World Liberty's overseas trips is Changpeng Zhao, the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance..."
CZ, who explained the situation, emphasized that he did not promote WLF nor has any personal connections with the aforementioned officials.
“Another defamatory article by the Wall Street Journal. This is not how journalism should be conducted.
…..
Then, the WSJ published:
“The person facilitating some promotional activities for World Liberty's overseas trip is Changpeng Zhao, the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance…”
Fact:
I am not an intermediary for anyone. I did not "introduce Mr. Saqib to the WLF team." They have known each other for a long time, and I met Mr. Saqib for the first time in Pakistan. I did not "introduce any overseas trips for World Liberty."
“The WSJ is just a mouthpiece. There are forces in the United States that want to thwart efforts to make the U.S. the capital of cryptocurrency. They want to attack cryptocurrency, global cryptocurrency leaders, and governments that support cryptocurrency.”
