Argentina allows the population to use dollars without declaring their origin
The government of Argentina announced this Thursday (22) a plan to allow citizens to use their savings in dollars without having to explain their origin, said the Presidency spokesman, Manuel Adorni, to journalists.
The Argentine president, Javier Milei, will sign the decree and send a law to Congress, which seeks to avoid excessive controls and regulations on savings.
The government called the measure the "Plan for the historical reparation of the savings of Argentinians."
Milei had already indicated that he intended to relax tax rules so that the population could use undeclared dollars in the country. The idea, according to Argentina's Economy Minister, Luis Caputo, is that the population can use this money to buy appliances, cars, houses, land, among other things, without "anyone asking for explanations."
