U.S. media: Trump enters the arena with a massive $600 million, vowing to take both the House and Senate in the midterm elections.
According to reports from the Associated Press, three informed sources revealed that U.S. President Trump has raised at least $600 million in political donations for the midterm elections. This is an unprecedented amount in modern politics, especially for a 'lame duck' president who is constitutionally barred from running again. According to insiders, Trump's ultimate goal is to raise $1 billion or more and to control both the House and Senate by next November. Trump is eager to reverse the trend of Republican candidates often being outpaced by Democrats and hopes to maximize presidential influence. The remaining funds after his term can help him maintain significant influence over the Republican Party, solidifying his position as the most influential decision-maker and potential benefactor in 2028 and beyond. Currently, there are 53 Republican seats among the 100 Senate seats in the U.S., and 220 Republican seats among the 435 House of Representatives seats, making the Republican Party the majority in both chambers. Most members of the U.S. Congress will be up for reelection in the midterm elections, including all 435 seats in the House of Representatives with two-year terms, and 33 or 34 of the 100 Senate seats, where new senators will have full six-year terms, as well as special elections to complete the remaining terms. Midterm elections are generally held on the first Tuesday of November in election years.
