Bitcoin enthusiasts around the world enjoy pizza in celebration of the famous pizza order made by Bitcoin developer and miner Laszlo Hanyecz on May 22, 2010. On this day, 15 years ago, Hanyecz paid 10,000 Bitcoins for two large pizzas from Papa John's to one of the first Bitcoin users. This represented the first real purchase of any goods using cryptocurrency, which had only been released a year prior.
