The community is celebrating Bitcoin Pizza Day today.
On May 22, 2010, programmer Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas from Papa John's for 10,000 Bitcoins. The value of this 'pizza' increases yearly, and so the community created its own holiday.
It is fitting that this year coincides with the price of Bitcoin reaching an all-time high, surpassing $111,000.
This means the value of the pizza now exceeds $1.1 billion.🤦😝
