The official marketing representative of the SHIB team, known to the community by the pseudonym Lucy, posted a tweet sharing an interesting culinary fact about the mysterious leader of SHIB, Satoshi Kusama.
Lucy's tweet was dedicated to Bitcoin Pizza Day, which is celebrated today, May 22.
Satoshi Kusama's favorite pizza?
In her tweet, Lucy posted an image of a pizza shaped like the Shiba Inu mascot's head — SHIB. Next to it on the cutting board, there is a message written in ketchup: "Hello, Shitoshi!"
Lucy tweeted that she made a "special pizza" for her friend Satoshi Kusama (and tagged him on X). Lucy shared that, according to her information, Satoshi is a "big fan of pineapple pizza."
Meanwhile, Satoshi Kusama has been silent for several weeks, not posting a single update on his X account.
The first bitcoin payment for pizza 15 years ago
In 2010, when bitcoin was worth less than $1, American programmer Laszlo Hanyecz posted a message on the BitcoinTalk forum offering 10,000 bitcoins to anyone who would buy and deliver him two large pizzas from Papa John's.
The challenge was accepted by 19-year-old student Jeremy Sturdivant from California. He ordered two pizzas and requested them to be delivered to Laszlo Hanyecz's house. The first made the payment in bitcoins, which in 2010 were worth about $41. Today, those bitcoins are worth an astounding $1.1 billion.
Since then, May 22 is celebrated annually by bitcoin enthusiasts around the world. They gather together, eat pizza, and discuss the adoption of cryptocurrencies and various ideas related to bitcoin.
