Second-generation mobile phone Seeker pre-orders exceed 150,000 units, shipping in August
Solana Mobile announced that the second-generation Solana phone 'Seeker' will begin global shipping on August 4, and plans to launch the native ecosystem token $SKR.
This Android-based Seeker phone is priced at $500 (approximately 16,000 TWD), which is half the launch price of the first-generation Saga phone released in 2023, and has already received over 150,000 pre-orders.
Seeker will retain the Genesis token and hardware mnemonic insurance features of Saga, and will add functionalities like SeekerID, SeedVault wallet, and an improved Solana decentralized application store.
According to a report from (CoinPost), Seeker has collaborated with Solflare to develop the 'Seed Vault Wallet', featuring a double-click to send transaction function, and is rebuilding Solana's dApp store to greatly enhance user experience.

SKR Token: Core of the Solana Mobile Ecosystem
Emmett Hollyer, General Manager of Solana Mobile, told the media (Decrypt) that the reason for launching the $SKR token instead of directly using the existing Solana ($SOL) is because of the opportunity to coordinate growth and transformation, and to ensure that related decisions can be adjusted around the fundamental elements of the mobile ecosystem. He emphasized that $SKR must purely represent the Solana Mobile platform.
$SKR will run on the first layer of the Solana blockchain. While specific details on token issuance and acquisition methods have not been disclosed, the Solana Mobile official website shows that SKR will be directly given to builders and users to promote ecosystem participation.
Hollyer stated that the significance of this token goes beyond any single device; all devices, including Saga, Seeker, and future additions to the Solana Mobile ecosystem, can participate in the platform's economy, incentive mechanisms, and ownership.

TEEPIN Framework: Building a Decentralized Mobile Ecosystem
In order to differentiate from existing closed mobile platform architectures, Solana Mobile has launched a three-layer architecture model called TEEPIN.
TEEPIN is an abbreviation for 'Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network', dividing the ecosystem into three levels: 'Hardware Layer', 'Platform Layer', and 'Network Layer'.
Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana, stated:
‘TEEPIN represents the next evolution stage of mobile phones, a framework of trust not granted by a central authority but validated through cryptography.’
He pointed out that by utilizing existing security hardware features on modern smartphones and managing on-chain access, it will bring an open innovation, platform ownership, and decentralized future to mobile devices.
Emmett Hollyer, General Manager of Solana Mobile, further explains that the TEEPIN and Solana Mobile decentralized ecosystem allows developers to not worry about app store rules and fees while ensuring user authenticity. This architecture also enables other hardware manufacturers to join the Solana Mobile ecosystem, creating a truly open mobile platform.
