💥 An American tourist, Jacob Irwin-Cline, alleges he was drugged and robbed of over $123,000 in cryptocurrency by a fake Uber driver in London on May 9, 2025. After a night out at The Roxy nightclub in Soho, Irwin-Cline called an Uber around 1:30 AM. A driver, matching the app's profile, approached him in a different vehicle and addressed him by his Uber alias. Accepting a cigarette from the driver, Irwin-Cline soon felt disoriented and believes he was drugged with scopolamine, a substance known for causing sedation and memory loss. While semi-conscious, the driver allegedly obtained access to his phone and drained his crypto wallets, including Bitcoin and XRP. The Metropolitan Police and FBI are investigating the incident, though recovery of the stolen funds is considered unlikely.
