Chainlink (LINK) launches communication protocol on the Solana (SOL) network that could 'unlock' more than US$ 19 billion in value for the DeFi ecosystem
Chainlink (LINK), the oracle network in the cryptocurrency environment (read more below), announced this Monday (19) the official launch of a Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP, the acronym in English) on the Solana (SOL) mainnet.
The announcement was made through an official press release from the developers of the Chainlink network, the twelfth largest cryptocurrency on the planet by market value.
This is the first non-EVM blockchain (ethereum virtual machine, a processing point for smart contracts on the network) to receive the CCIP update, establishing a new standard for communication between different blockchains.
With this, Chainlink inaugurates a new phase of communication between networks, considered a key theme for the development of the digital universe.
Thus, CCIP already supports more than 57 blockchains and allows the secure transfer of values and data between EVM and SVM (solana virtual machine) ecosystems.
