According to The Washington Post, the Trump administration has developed plans to use up to $250 million that were intended for foreign aid to fund the return of migrants from Ukraine and Haiti who fled to the U.S. due to the situation at home.

The administration of former President Joe Biden provided Ukrainians and Haitians with temporary protection that allows them to remain in the U.S. if returning home is dangerous. Documents reviewed by the newspaper indicate that over 200,000 Ukrainians and 500,000 Haitians may be eligible for the voluntary return program.
