Does the U.S. want to globally ban Chinese chips? The Ministry of Commerce just responded.
We note that the U.S. Department of Commerce recently issued a new guideline attempting to require a global ban on China's advanced computing chips, citing 'potential violations of export controls,' even specifically naming Huawei's Ascend chips.
In response, China expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition.
In simple terms, the U.S. side is abusing export control tools to suppress and contain, which not only violates international law and basic norms of international relations but also severely infringes upon the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, harming China's development interests.
We want to emphasize that this practice is essentially a discriminatory restriction on Chinese enterprises. China has laws and red lines. Any organization or individual that cooperates with or implements these restrictive measures from the U.S. may violate China's 'Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law' and other relevant laws and will also bear corresponding legal responsibilities.
