Arrest of Vladimir Smirkeis, co-founder of Bloom, in Moscow on suspicion of committing a massive fraud

According to "The Block", Vladimir Smirkeis, co-founder of the mini Telegram app "Bloom", was arrested in Moscow on suspicion of his involvement in a wide-scale fraud. The Zamoskvoretsky District Court in Moscow approved the request for his arrest and opened an investigation under Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code (particularly in cases of large-scale fraud). The Bloom project later announced that Smirkeis had resigned from his position as Chief Marketing Officer and was no longer involved in the development of the project or a partner in its founding. Reports indicated that the charges may be related to the projects "The Token Fund" and "Token Box" that he previously led, which raised millions of dollars but ultimately failed to deliver on their promises, resulting in losses for investors. Bloom launched the "Drop Game" in May 2024, where users earn "Bloom Points" by clicking on snowflakes on the screen, pledging to exchange them for tokens in the future. However, the airdrop plan has been postponed several times, and there is currently no clear timeline for the token generation event yet.
