👌 Vitalik proposes a new node model to help Ethereum scale significantly
Vitalik Buterin has just proposed the "Partially Stateless Nodes" model – allowing Ethereum nodes to store only the necessary state instead of the entire blockchain data (>1.3 TB). This solution helps increase the gas limit by 10–100 times, reduces hardware requirements, and expands the ability to run nodes on personal machines.
Vitalik also proposed:
Implementing EIP-4444: only storing data from the last 36 days, with the rest distributed via erasure coding.
Adjusting gas fees: reducing costs for light operations and increasing fees for actions that burden the network state.
Goal: to maintain decentralization, resist censorship, and enable more users to operate nodes. Many experts evaluate this as a step in the right direction for Ethereum to return to its original philosophy.
