Ripple CEO criticizes Senator Lummis for canceling meeting, calls for comprehensive support for the crypto industry

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse stated that U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (Republican from Wyoming) canceled her meeting with him and refused to reschedule, despite being the chair of the Digital Assets Subcommittee and a well-known crypto advocate.

Garlinghouse urged Lummis to "become a leader for the entire crypto industry" and invited her for an online or public dialogue to achieve the Trump administration's goal of making the U.S. a global crypto hub.

He is heading to Washington to support the "reasonable crypto bill" concerning stablecoins and market structure, and praised Congress for viewing crypto as a multi-chain industry.

The U.S. Senate will review the GENIUS Act on May 19, which was proposed by Bill Hagerty and co-sponsored by Lummis, Tim Scott, and Kirsten Gillibrand.

Additionally, Ripple has two recent developments:

May 15: Court dismissed Ripple's motion to settle in the securities lawsuit.

May 19: CME Group launches XRP futures.
