#SaylorBTCPurchase Michael Saylor's company, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), has once again expanded its Bitcoin holdings. Between May 12 and May 18, 2025, Strategy acquired 7,390 BTC for approximately $764.9 million, at an average price of around $103,498 per coin. This purchase brings the company's total Bitcoin holdings to 576,230 BTC, valued at over $59 billion at current market prices .
To finance this acquisition, Strategy raised capital through the sale of common stock and Series A perpetual convertible preferred stock, generating about $765 million in net proceeds .
However, this aggressive investment strategy has attracted legal scrutiny. On May 16, 2025, a class-action lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia against Strategy and its executives, including Michael Saylor. The lawsuit alleges that the company made misleading statements and failed to disclose risks associated with its Bitcoin investment strategy and new crypto accounting rules .
Despite the legal challenges, Strategy remains committed to its Bitcoin-centric approach, aiming to hold $42 billion in Bitcoin by the end of 2027 .
