Vitalik’s New Ethereum Upgrade (EIP-4444):
Ethereum nodes will store less history: Soon, full nodes might only keep 36 days of blockchain data.
Why? To make nodes lighter: This helps more people run nodes without needing expensive hardware.
Don’t worry—old data isn’t lost: It's backed up using erasure coding (like splitting a file into pieces and storing them across the network).
Partial nodes = flexible rules: You can choose how much data your node keeps.
Less RPC bloat: On-chain settings help manage what data you care about.
Bottom line: More privacy, better decentralization, and cheaper node operation.
