Tokyo-listed investment firm Metaplanet has made another bold move into Bitcoin, purchasing 1,004 BTC for $104.3 million, according to a disclosure made Monday. This latest buy raises its total BTC holdings to 7,800 BTC.

The company paid an average price of $103,873 per BTC for this tranche, while its overall average purchase price stands at $91,300. At current market rates (around $103,343), Metaplanet’s holdings are now valued at over $806 million.

This acquisition is part of a broader plan: Metaplanet aims to reach 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025, taking cues from corporate strategies like MicroStrategy’s. It began accumulating Bitcoin in April 2024 and has since funded these acquisitions primarily through bond issuances, including a recent $15 million bond sale—its 15th.

With Bitcoin hovering near its all-time high and macro sentiment improving, Metaplanet’s conviction in BTC as a treasury reserve asset appears stronger than ever.#BinanceAlphaAlert #SaylorBTCPurchase
