🧠 Vitalik: Ethereum L1 Scaling Must Protect Local Node Usability
In his latest post, @VitalikButerin proposes adjusting Ethereum's scaling roadmap to avoid making full node operation too hard:
🔹 Prioritize EIP-4444: Nodes only store 36 days of history
🔹 Build decentralized historical data storage
🔹 Reform gas costs: Storage becomes expensive, execution cheaper
🔹 Enable “partial stateless nodes”: Verify blocks with only partial state, enhancing privacy & censorship resistance
